I am using the Windows 10 installation media. I have done this at least 20 times now. I've been building PCs since I was 10 years old. I am now preparing a Windows 8. If that fails, I fear I might just set the whole thing on fire!
Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Wow, thanks Greg! I believe I have tried everything listed in your recommendations already unfortunately : I did come across a version of this a few times while Googling my problem today and I've been doing a lot of googling.
I may have to try building the drive in the PC I am on now. Does this mean that Windows sometimes just wont install on some PC hardware but will run just fine after being "transplanted"? Yes I am only using the Media Creation Tool. I do not own a DVD player, but I might be able to borrow one tomorrow. I am using a UEFI bios. Does that help? I am installing windows on the SSD on another computer at the moment. Will transplant and report back. Ill also find out the answers to your remaining questions.
I believe so. I was not given any option that mentioned "UEFI" when creating the media. I created it on another Windows 10 machine and it asked me if i wanted to update this PC or create installation media, it then asked me for architecture 64 bit etc and finally asked if i wanted it as ISO or USB drive. I picked USB drive. It then did its thing. I had one of these already created from the last few times I have built a windows PC so I thought nothing of it. So I installed windows onto the new SSD from this computer.
I can boot to it on this PC, it works great. I then transplanted it into the other computer and the BIOS recognizes it on the boot screen but it will not boot to it. It just reboots to the bios no matter what. Sorry greg, I misunderstood.
There were a lot of instructions in your post and I missed the part about making sure that i have selected the UEFI version of the thumbstick. Yes, that is correct. I left it at the default which was UEFI version of the thumbstick.
I just disabled CSM entirely. When I do so, the ability to toggle the other options disappear so I can only assume this means legacy support is totally disabled leaving only UEFI. Wouldn't the fact that the new drive with Windows 10 I made from my PC doesn't work on the new one mean that this issue is unrelated to the installation media?

Make sure all other drives and peripherals are unplugged.
If you're using another PC to do this then uncheck the box for Recommended Settings to choose the exact version and bit rate for the target PC only. As a last resort you can also install the hard drive in another PC to install your licensed version of Windows 10, then swap it back into the problem PC. Windows 10 is remarkably adaptive to new hardware without needing adaptive restore. If it will start it will swap out all drivers requiring several restarts. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your feedback. How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. It's always been that way, but previously one needed to Sysprep the image or use Adaptive Restore on image or moved Windows hard drive to get it to start.
Are you creating the media only using Media Creation Tool? Did you try DVD as well as Flash stick? Is it being booted as a UEFI device.
Did you follow that step? Your other questions: Fast boot is disabled, Secure boot says enabled but its greyed out. I have never messed with this bios setting. There is no Windows Boot Manager listed. Did you boot the media as a UEFI device, as I have now asked twice again since I wrote it in the steps in my first post -where it is also illustrated in the Clean Install tutorial you should be following?
Since you apparently won't refer to that tutorial I am posting the illustration which gives an example of how UEFI and Legacy Flash sticks will be differentiated below: You must boot the media as a UEFI device, period.
If it's not offered as one then the media is either not created correctly which the MCT will do automatically or the settings are wrong. Could be a coincidence? Get some rest if needed then start over following the steps closely in my first post without skipping any. If you have any questions just ask back. For example there is a step to reset the UEFI firmware to optimal defaults. But make sure it's still set to UEFI, with Secure boot on and then if necessary Off, fast boot off until after install.
A new day, but unfortunately same old problem : I borrowed a DVD player and burned the ISO and tried that, and it hung before it even got to the partitioning step it hung on the choose Windows version screen.
Next, I have done as you asked though to be fair, I have done this before I pinky swear and read through all of the links from your original post and went through the entire process anew. Then I went in and manually deleted the keys listed in order to get Secure Boot to say "disabled" on this motherboard, that's the only way I could achieve this.
I disabled CSM entirely. I disabled Fast boot. I deleted each existing partition from the SSD until it just said "Drive 0 unallocated space". Instead of clicking "New" I just clicked "Next" instead to simplify matters. It installed without a hitch. I didn't even get that generic black screen that says something like "No bootable drive found". The computer just booted over and over again right to the UEFI bios screen. Unless you have other suggestions, or unless I have again misunderstood some of the steps indicated in your original comment, my next course of action seems to be to replace the motherboard to rule out some sort of SATA controller issue?
I did as well manually load SATA drivers onto the Windows 10 USB and loaded them before installing windows but the install still hung at the same step. Also, thank you so much for all the help you've provided. Really is quite amazing. This site in other languages x.
