First time I installed this, it didn't work to make solid objects, it did automatically surfaces that I couldn't edit. I reinstalled it invnetor than it works. It is a little finicky, enaabler by doing a solid extrude and then importing a mesh over and then making the mesh a solid, I was able to use the combine feature to make a cut requires two solids.
If you aren't getting the option when right clicking, make sure that you are right clicking on the mesh object under the mesh tree. Also, as others have said make sure to enable the add-on.
